Following veterinarian approval, teeth cleaning is performed using traditional hand scalers like you would see in your dental office. Pumice powder is applied with a toothbrush for polishing surfaces and removing stain. Chlorhexidine rinse is used to kill and prevent bacteria growth. Each appointment takes between 30 and 60 minutes, depending on the amount of build up.

Disclosure: Please understand that a non-anesthetic dental exam and cleaning may not be as thorough as an anesthetic dental exam, cleaning and X-rays, but rather is just one part of a complete dental care plan for your pet. Remember, without an X-ray we cannot see what is going on under the gum line.
